Our much loved pre-school building has reached the end of its life and the cost of replacing it is far beyond our means. The pre-school is an integral part of the community so please support us on our journey to raise enough funds for a new building for both the children and the community.

Q's and A's

Who owns the current building? Wiltshire Council own the building but there are no funds available to replace it -  the current COVID 19 situation has put immense pressure on finances.

Who owns the land?  The land is owned by Salisbury Diocese and leased to Wiltshire Council

Who owns pre-school? Pre-school was previously a charity but due to a lack of volunteers it was then set up as a not for profit private limited company with restrictions placed on how funds are used. Any profits are reinvested back into the pre-school. Karen (Pre-School Leader), Linda (Deputy Leader) and Kate (Business Manager) are Directors and oversee the day-to-day running of the pre-school. If pre-school were to close, any reserves would be distributed to other projects within the community.

Why is there no money for Pre-School? Early years settings are historically under funded.  Holt Pre-School does not charge any top up fees and any trips, new resources, wish days, parties, picnics and entertainment are either fully or partly funded from fundraising activities. It is so important to us that we are fully inclusive and all children are given equal opportunities. It's clear that the staff all have the best interests of the children at heart.

What can I do to help? Anything and everything! There are a number of documents on this page that will help you to understand our aims and objectives, our financial situation and our case for a new building. Please take a read and if you have a contact, or know of an organisation that may be able to help then please direct them to this page.

Thank you!
